RollHard x Bicester Heritage 2022

It’s no secret that Bicester Heritage is a true mecca for all UK and northern EU car enthusiasts, and with good reason. Set amongst an ex-Bomber Command base in Oxfordshire, Bicester Heritage may well be the most aesthetically-pleasing industrial park on the planet, consisting of automotive specialists and dealers ranging from carburettor rebuilds and pre-war mechanics to Porsche specialists and period-competition car sales. There really is something for everyone, and - as an added bonus - Bicester also loan out their wonderful location for car shows, with RollHard making full use of the technical area for their 2022 show.

With the location, quality and atmosphere boxes well-and-truly ticked, RollHard have perfected the something-for-everyone car show recipe. Whilst their shows are still firmly rooted in their origin of high-quality, retro-focused modified cars, over the years RollHard has opened up to classic race cars, concours restorations, supercars and more, and as a result their shows are some of the most diverse and immersive in the UK.

2022’s show was certainly no exception, with everything from the latest hot hatches and performance vehicles to restomods, a one-off custom Fiat 500, Porsches aplenty and even an ex-Michael Schumacher F1 car, along with a healthy dose of retro-flavoured racing machinery. The sun even blessed Bicester Heritage on the day, and as a result, this was - by far - one of the best shows we attended all year.

If you’ve never attended a RollHard x Bicester Heritage show, make sure you change that in 2023. At the time of writing, there’s no official date for the next show, but be sure to get tickets quickly once they do go on sale, as we have no doubt that they’ll prove popular…

We love a good air-cooled Porsche here at SHIFT, and this gorgeous 993 was no exception. In fact, that’s pretty damn close to perfect right there…

The Audi TT (across all of its generations) is a rare instance of a car looking fantastic at both stock height and slammed to the ground, with this particular BBS-wearing example proving the latter.

Matt Hagan’s MK2 has suffered a few setbacks this year, but looked nothing short of absolutely stunning at the 2022 RollHard show. Is this the best MK2 on the UK show scene at the moment?

The RollHard stand certainly displayed the sheer variety of the show in one small microcosm of the Technical site, with a mix of retro race / rally cars, Schumacher’s Benetton Formula One car, a generous helping of Air-cooled Vw action, and even a Honda-swapped MK1 golf.

Khyzyl Saleem (The_Kyza) revealed his RX7 post-paint for the first time at the RollHard show, and we reckon it looks ace. Whether these rotary-engined icons are your thing or not, there’s no arguing that this ‘7’ could draw a crowd…

Perfect match of weather and car choice right here. Looks right at home!

Mica Dori’s 190e pushes the boundaries between what can be classed as a modified car, and what would be called art on wheels. A tattoo artist by trade, Mica absolutely smashed this one. One of our highlights of the show for sure.
